Central District DCMC Meeting - April 1st, 3-5 pm
The Central District Connectional Ministries Council will meet on Monday, April 1st, from 3-5 pm, at the Conference Center to prepare  business moving forward to District Conference.  You can find a list of DCMC members here.

Des Moines Area Christian Educators Lunch - March 26th
All Central District educators are invited to come to lunch on Tuesday, March 26th, at 12:30 pm, at Einstein Bagels (5901 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines.  Please email Diane Wasson Eberhart at diane@whumc.org if you plan to attend.
Laity Day with Bishop Laurie - April 6th,  9 am - 3:30 pm, at Collegiate UMC in Ames
Join other laity from across the Iowa Conference. Bishop Laurie will lead us in reflecting on 2019 Special General Conference as we look to the future.  Lay delegates to General Conference have been invited to share their experience.   There will also be a missional topic, music, worship, and time for conversation and learning from peers.  Register here.
Central District Retired Clergy Gathering -  April 8th
Please join us at the Pizza Ranch (4954 86th Street, Urbandale) at 11:30 am.  Paul Wilson, owner of Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe, will present a brief history of the guitar as utilized in secular and religious music.
Spring 2019 Order of Elders, Order of Deacons,  & the Fellowship of Local Pastors & Associate Members Event - April 9th, 10 am - 3 pm, at First UMC in Ames
General Conference has left our Conference frayed.  How do we talk about this together?  Where are we now? How do we relate to this decision? No matter where we are, we need to be healthy.  This time will allow us to invest in our spiritual and relational connection.  Full-time clergy are expected to attend.  Part-time clergy are encouraged to attend.  Childcare will be provided.  Register here.

Heart of the House - Central District Fundraiser
In response to the Bishop's challenge, our goal is to raise $5,000 toward furnishing a kitchen for the Ubuntu Retreat Center at Africa University.  We have not yet reached our goal! Make checks payable to "IAUMC" and note "Project 402: Africa University Kitchen" on the memo line and send to the Iowa Methodist Conference Center, 2301 Rittenhouse St., Des Moines, IA 50321.
