Naomi Sea Young graduated from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA, with a Bachelor of Special Studies degree. Naomi Sea Young received her Master of Divinity, with a three-year certificate in Church and Community Ministries, from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. During her last year of seminary, she attended a semester-long program for the National Capitol Semester for Seminarians (NCSS) to receive a certificate from the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., in Theology, Ethics, and Public Policy.
Naomi Sea Young has had extensive experience throughout her career developing partnerships, facilitating learning opportunities, and leading visioning activities to build meaningful community ministries. Naomi Sea Young previously served Collegiate United Methodist Church and Wesley Foundation in Ames, IA, as a Campus Ministry Associate, and has served the Iowa Conference as the Leadership Development Minister for Social Justice and Mission. She has most recently served Bidwell Riverside as the Community Development Director and the Executive Director.
Naomi Sea Young has a deep passion for the ministries and work of the United Methodist Church and the Iowa Conference and holds the belief that we, as God's people, have a unique opportunity to impact positive change in our communities and in the world.
